There are two types of chainsaws on the market today: ones which run on gas and ones which run on electricity. The type you ultimately use is really dependent upon what you plan on using the chainsaw for, as well as your personal preference. If you live in the suburbs or a rural community with a great deal of shrubbery and trees, you are best off using a gas powered chainsaw. However, if your landscaping is not as vast, then an electrical chainsaw is perfect for you. Therefore, it is very important for you to really consider what type of cutting you will be doing with your chainsaw to ensure you purchase the right type for you and your needs.

Because you are attached to your power source when using an electrical chainsaw, you must always be mindful of what you will be using it for and how much reach you will need. Typically, you will get approximately 100 feet of reach when using an electrical chainsaw, so if your property is quite vast, this will pose a problem.

An electrical chainsaw is definitely better for people who are smaller or have less strength, as electrical chainsaws are significantly lighter than gas chainsaws. This means that electrical chainsaws are also much easier to handle and operate. Just be careful not to cut through your chainsaw’s cord!

To keep your chainsaw blades nice and sharp, you can purchase an electric chainsaw sharpener. With your electric chainsaw sharpener, your chainsaw will be sharpened and as good as new within one minute. Most types of electric chainsaw sharpeners have features which allow you to use exact angle settings and depth gauges, making it a very efficient tool. Moreover, this kind of chainsaw sharpener can be mounted on a bench in any workshop. Electric chainsaw sharpeners are typically small and do not weigh very much, making them easy to use and store without having to find a lot of extra space in your garage or shed.

There are some dissenters who do not feel that an electric chainsaw sharpener can properly and effectively sharpen a chainsaw’s chain because of the shape of the sharpener’s grinder and the method it utilizes in moving into the chainsaw tooth. Rather, these people feel that the only proper way to truly get the kind of sharpener you need for your chainsaw is with a handheld spherical file. Although there may be some merit to these claims, but unless you are skilled as a logger and use this special type of spherical file on a daily basis in performance of your job, then this handheld tool is not your best option. Because 99% of the population do not have such a skill set, most people who are sharpening their chainsaws will not accomplish this level of honing on a consistent basis as they will if they are using an electric chainsaw sharpener.

The electric chainsaw sharpener provides consistency in the angle it uses in sharpening the chainsaw chains, as well as in the depth and length of time the grinding wheel is touching each individual chainsaw tooth. This will bring superior results time and again.

Are you a self confessed DIY? Or do you profession in some sort of construction line? Or do you just like making things or tearing things apart, because you have a wonder for creation?

Well any one of those, you are going to need introducing to someone. That’s right. Meet the RK9000 Jawhorse.

There is one question that needs answering: “is it worth it?”

We contacted a few people who purchased the RK9000 Jawhorse, and in short, their answers were all the same: ‘Yes’. The most common reason why it was so beneficial was because it enabled them to do jobs that usually require two or more people.

For those on-call constructionists, it was more profitable. Why? For that very reason. If they answered a call, the labour would not have to be split in a few directions.

Here is a short summary on the direct benefits of the product itself.

The clamping power is immense; it takes the work load off two people so one person can manually complete tasks.

There seems to be no more need need for workbenches, standard clamps, vices and many more similar devices. The RK9000 Jawhorse let’s you apply up to 2200 pounds of force. It can also be adjusted to the width of 37inches wide, which is substantially a lot more than your average width! You will definitely get more use out of that.

It’s design is constructed with some solid steel which you can see and feel straight away; you get that sense of ‘there’s no messing about with this’. It’s free of any moving plastic parts that are destined to have a short life. Its posture boasts a single three legged design brings stability to the next level in contrast with conventional four legged designs.

Furthermore, it has an integrated folding system that allows for easy storage. This makes it convenient for travel as well; it can easily be stored in the boot of your car.

However the best feature about the RK9000 Jawhorse is that is unbelievably easy to use! No need to be any sort of tech savy to make this thing work; it just works.

Accessories

You can personalise the RK9000 Jawhorse even more, to suit your personal needs, because it offers relevant extras. An example of an accessory you can purchase is the Welding Jaw. With this extra application you can set up your own welding station. This will further extend your RK9000 Jawhorse to 52 inches; an extentsion of 15 inches to its original width. There is also the chainsaw jaw. This will make it quite simple to lock things into place. This could be used for i.e. sharpening purposes etc.

If you are intrigued about the RK9000 Jawhorse, then please visit our site provided at the end, which breaks the product down right to its core. After going through the information you should be able to reach an informed decision.

The Christmas season is coming up around the corner; if your kid’s ask you what you want, just reply with Horse. A RK9000 Jawhorse.

The most important part of your Poulan chainsaw is the chain. Proper maintenance and replacement of your Poulan saw chain will not only help keep the saw running and in good shape, but will also keep you safer while using the most dangerous power tool there is. You should always make sure your chain is properly sharpened, clean, has the right tension, and stays oiled during use.

Sharpening a Poulan saw chain can be very easy if you know what you are doing. When sharpening the chain be sure that you sharpen both sides of the cutting blade equally. Always check the chain for broken or damaged links prior to use and during every cleaning as these little defects can cause kickbacks, which can be dangerous to you and those around you.

Cleaning your Poulan saw chain can be an easy task. After making sure to disconnect the saw from any power source and remove the possibility of it being turned on accidentally, loosen the chain until it comes off the guide bar easily. After removing the chain from the saw completely, soak it in a household cleaner mixed with water while you gently scrub each piece or section with a soft brush.

When you’re done it should look brand new and be free of dirt and grime. Dry completely with a rag, making sure there is absolutely no water left to prevent rust, and lubricate.

A Poulan saw chain with the incorrect amount of tension can be dangerous and will not cut very efficiently. Your chain should be tight enough that it fits snugly against the bar but loose enough to be easily spun with your gloved hand. Tightening the chain too much can also lead to premature wear of the bar and chain, requiring replacement more often.

A loose chain is even more dangerous as this can cause the saw to bind in the wood or the chain can fall off the bar. Chains stretch after use, especially if they are new. Check often to make sure your chain is still tightened properly.

Most chain saw chains today are self oiling. This means that there is a reservoir in the bar that lets out enough oil to keep the chain properly lubricated. This can be important for safety reasons as well as maintenance reasons and the quality of the cut. A well oiled chain builds less heat and friction between the bar and the chain, allowing your saw blade to spin and the cutters to cut even at the high speeds a chain saw runs.

Proper maintenance of your Poulan saw chain is the most important part of operating the saw. Not only will these tips give your chain saw and chain a longer, more efficient life, but they will also help you to stay safe even when operating this dangerous piece of machinery.

The Yanmar Company was established in 1912 some 96 years ago. This Japanese company is now a truly global enterprise manufacturing products for many different industries including Agriculture, Industrial, Construction and Marine. The Yanmar Agricultural division was established in 1961 and Yanmar Tractors are part of the diverse range of agricultural machinery produced by this innovative company.

Grant Storey of Agpower, Victoria, summed up what many were saying at the launch: “We’re interested in the whole range, particularly the EG907 HMT – it’s an absolute winner.

Chain saws are wonderful tools when they are cutting properly. Most people know that when a chain saw gets dull it does not cut very easily, and in fact can become quite dangerous. But, there are a number of other problems that can cause your chain saw to cut poorly. Most of these issues can be traced back to improper sharpening procedures or poor maintenance.

When you’re cutting with your chain saw, if it cuts crooked or at an angle this is generally an indication that the teeth have been improperly filed. Either they were filed at the wrong angle, or every tooth was not filed the same amount and with the same pressure. If filing is not the cause of a chainsaw pulling to one side or the other, then it could be the bar or the sprocket at the far end of the bar are in poor condition and need maintenance or straightening.

If you have a newly sharpened chain saw and it dulls quickly, usually this is caused by thin cutting edges resulting from too much file pressure or low angle when sharpening your chain saw. Your chainsaw will need to be refiled using less pressure, as well as lowering the angle of attack and checking the height of the depth gauges.

If the chain grabs and cuts rough the saw sharpener probably induced a forward hook on the teeth as a result of too much pressure from the top of the file. A good indication that the depth gauges are set incorrectly is when the chain digs too far into the wood. You will need to lower the height of the depth gauges in most cases. If you detect overheating of the chain you may not have enough bar oil, or the saw sharpener created a backslope on the teeth during the last sharpening.

Drive link problems on the chain can result in severe problems like the chain jumping off the bar. Incorrect chain tension can cause this, and you may have to replace bent drive links on your chain. Also, excessive chain chatter can be caused by improper sprocket fit, and result in front or back peened drive links.

Whenever you identify these kinds of cutting problems with your chain saw you should immediately remove the bar and chain from the saw and inspect carefully. There are usually only a couple of nuts to remove the chain and separate the bar from the saw. This will allow you to inspect the parts for dangerous defects and keep your saw in good condition.

The data in this note has been prepared to raise cognizance of the potential wounds and
Hazards associated with the use of a chainsaw for general cross-cutting activities. Chainsaw users are inspired to pursue coaching in this area thru a licensed training organisation.

Read the owners manual for your Stihl chainsaw model. It’ll tell you the safety features for

Check your chainsaw comprehensively before use.Make sure your chain and sprocket are in
If you’re not sure, take it

Keep other folks and animals away from the work area. Do not become distracted. Stop
The chainsaw if somebody starts talking to you.

Chainsaw operation requires constant attention and tired operators have more accidents.

Preventing hearing loss

Most chainsaws emit noise levels that may cause long-lasting damage to your hearing if used for long periods at a time.

Always use safety standards licensed earmuffs or plugs.

ensure your muffler is in good shape.

ensure your engine is tuned to manufacturer specifications.

The exhaust gasses from your chainsaw contain lethal elements such as carbon monoxide.

ensure your muffler is in good condition.

Don’t work in enclosed spaces.

Personal safety kit

Boots and gloves should be worn to guard you from chainsaw injury

Using your chainsaw

Do not operate your chainsaw with the throttle lock engaged. Engine speed can’t be controlled with the throttle trigger in this position.

Always hold your chainsaw decisively with both hands.

confirm your chainsaw does not touch any foreign materials.

Take special care when cutting shatter wood – pointed slithers of wood might be caught and flung in your direction.

If on a slope, stand on the uphill side or to the side of the log. Watch out for rolling logs.

Kickback happens when the chainsaw bar is flung upwards desperately during crosscutting,
Usually striking the operator in the head at speed causing serious injury. Sawing. The force of the chain ( travelling at up to 60kph at full throttle ) flings the top of the bar in an
Arc at the operator quicker than the operator can react.

To stop injury from kickback :

ensure the brake mechanism is clean and operates effectively ;

Use low kick back type chain and avoid lowering the depth gauges too much when sharpening ;

Hold the chainsaw firmly, ensuring the left hand encircles the top handle with the thumb

Avoid bringing the higher quadrant of the guide bar into contact with any foreign object ;

Do not cut above shoulder height ; and

Always commence your cut at top revs.

Always start first cut on the compression side to a 3rd of the diameter, then perform the second cut at the strain side – otherwise the saw will become jammed.

For logs touching the ground cut three quarters of the way thru the log then roll over to finish the cut – this can avoid damaging the chain.for more info check out Stihl
